About Me

Amandine Parker is 19 years old and an accomplished and meticulous high school graduate with honors and awards from Institut Collegial Vincent Massey Collegiate keen to begin her college studies in Animal Science and Pre-Veterinary Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan.

While not educating herself she volunteers her time with the Assiniboine Park Zoo, Canadian Animal Blood Bank, Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, CancerCare Manitoba, Craig Street Cats, Manitoba Riding for the Disabled, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, Salvation Army, Society for Manitobans with Disabilities, and the Winnipeg Humane Society.

She is also the founder of her non-profit organization I Love Deaf Cats and upon graduating from university plans to open a feline veterinary clinic.

Other than her dedication to animals, barbie® collecting, knitting, math, and philanthropy she enjoys astronomy, music, shopping, vegetarianism, and yoga.

Although hard of hearing she proves nothing stands in her way and is indeed her own kind of beautiful.

Contestants are selected because of academia, beauty, personality, talent, and not excluded because of background, ethnicity, interests, skills, and disability. Each week contestants are put to the test to better their knowledge about beauty, fashion, philanthropy, public relations, and skills needed to be Amandine Parker's More Than Just a Pretty Face.

Among Amandine Parker, celebrity guests Aishwarya Rai, Anne Hathaway, and Brad Pitt show and teach hopefuls about their real beauty and sponsors Goody and MC College help hopefuls on their self esteem, youth issues, leadership skills, and well-rounded lifestyles.

Amandine Parker's More Than Just a Pretty Face feels great about who they are, can confidently express themselves, enjoys helping others, and is beautiful outside and importantly inside.

Walmart Walk for Miracles

Amandine Parker Appears at Walmart Walk for Miracles - 01

I had a fun time making an appearance at the Walmart Walk for Miracles on June 13th located at St. Vital Park.

Arriving at 8am I received my t-shirt and by 9:40am I assisted at the kid's tent entertaining tweens and teens while painting faces and playing games.

The walk began at 10am to the Crusader Sea Cadet Pipe and Drum Band and during my break I met with Dr. Goodbear to take pictures together. When I was born, I was 3 months early and weighed two pounds and meeting him meant a lot because of the problems I experienced at birth.

As the walkers arrived back from the walk, refreshments and entertainment celebrated a successful event! Me being vegetarian I snacked on McDonald's Apple Slices with Caramel Dip!

While painting more faces I listened to Amber Anderson; watched performances by the Institute of Dance of Manitoba and magician Chris Funk.

Although it was a fun day the walk is an annual event which helps Children's Miracle Network raise funds for 12 children's hospital foundations across Canada. All dollars raised, fund life-saving care, ground breaking research and special programs designed to offer the highest quality care to sick and inquired children.

Blog Assignment #1

From Cresentwood, Whyte Ridge, to Saint Norbert; these are all neighborhoods where I've lived within Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Amandine Parker's Miss Teen Canada-World Blog Assignment 1 - 12

Saint Norbert is located just south of Winnipeg's perimeter. Bilingual while projecting a french countryside feel and noting historical French-Canadian heritage it's environmental friendly, relaxing, and feels miles away from the city.

The neighborhood is composed mainly of agricultural lands considering I live a walking distance from South Creak Equestrian Centre gated by a gorgeous white picket fence and Pollock Island, an accessible river bottom (only in dry weather); I shouldn't forget to mention St. Norbert Farmers' Market.

Originally Saint Norbert was an aboriginal settlement of the French-Metis community as immigrants arrived from Quebec and France to settle in the St. Norbert Provincial Heritage Park (as known today).

Historically Saint Norbert is the site of Manitoban Louis Riel's battle for rights and home to provincial heritage site number 31 Canada's first Trappist Monastery (right), provincial heritage site number 39 La Chapelle de Notre-Dame-du-Bon-Secours (right), provincial heritage site 49 Trappist Monastery Guesthouse, and Place Saint-Norbert, a log cabin built by the McDougalls, a metis family who lived in Lorette.

Amandine Parker Appears at City Hall

Although it's a long drive to downtown from Saint Norbert, don't forget to eye the gorgeous dresses at Chantal's Bridal and Formal and visit City Hall to admire the gold and marble decor while you're in Winnipeg.

Bon voyage; Bon voyage,
